Arrival Instructions
Tbilisi International Airport lies around seventeen kilometres from the hotel, usually twenty five to thirty five minutes by car. Bolt and pre-booked transfers offer fixed fares, and bus 337 connects the airport with the city centre. Many flights land at night, so arranging transport in advance is helpful. Showing the driver the directions through the arch near SPAR avoids confusion.
Marjanishvili metro station, two or three minutes away, connects with the red and green lines of the Tbilisi metro. Contactless bank cards and the Metromoney card are accepted, and fares are very low. The escalators are among the deepest in the world. Trains run frequently from early morning until midnight.
Tbilisi Central Station is only one metro stop away at Station Square, with trains to Batumi, Kutaisi and Yerevan. The fast train to Batumi takes around five hours.
Bolt and Yandex Go are cheap and widely used for trips to the Old Town and other districts. They are the easiest option at night.
Marshrutkas to Mtskheta and Kazbegi leave from Didube station, reachable by metro. Day trips are simple and inexpensive.
The Georgian Military Highway to Kazbegi offers spectacular mountain scenery, around three hours by road.
Traffic in Tbilisi can be heavy, and driving styles are aggressive, so public transport is often the better choice.
